Our Journey

A brief history of our company

Founded in 1988 with the opening of a small warehouse in Poole, selling manual window winders to the public. We focussed on innovation and quality and developed a range of products for the industry, marked by the launch of our first actuator controller in back in 1993.

2003 saw the appointment of Lorenzo Jones as Managing Director and with it, the search for new technologies and products. Moving into smoke ventilation systems, we introduced and developed a variety of services supporting our range of smoke and natural ventilation products.

In 2004 we launched a Maintenance Division dedicated to smoke ventilation. This would prove pivotal in our company history and lead to further expansion with the launch of our Projects Division in 2013 and our first commercial installation exceeding £500,000!

Now, some 35 years since launch, and with over 90 employees – our products and technologies constantly evolve to meet legislative, economic and customer needs. However, our ethos and commitment to quality is the same now as it was back then, remaining true to our founding principles.

Company founded by our Chairman, Tullio Jones in 1988, specialising in window actuators and winding gears.

UK Distributer

Vent Engineering awarded exclusive UK distribution rights to sell Topp and Ultraflex window actuators.   

August, 1996
April, 2010

Product Launch

Vent Engineering launches AOV products & control systems, focusing on life saving technologies and performance.

April, 2010
December, 2019

IFC Certified

Vent Engineering achieves IFC SDI 19 Certification to install, service, maintain & commission smoke control systems.
